Illustration of the model. The spatial modular model represents a structure of a network of infection channels inside cities (modules) and between cities. Inside a city, the infection channels are dense and spread randomly between different areas of the city (green links) like in an Erdős–Rényi network having random like structure while the infection channels from one city to another is usually possible between neighbouring cities (red links) having spatial like structure
