Results of differential analyses of in-centralities. For all tested centrality measures, sender nodes of successful recommendation letters have significantly larger in-centralities than sender nodes of unsuccessful letters (two-sided MWW test). In contrast to that, receivers of successful recommendations have significantly smaller degree and PageRank in-centralities than receivers of unsuccessful letters (no significant differences for the closely related closeness in-centralities and harmonic in-centralities). See Table 3 for P-values underlying the significance annotations. Note that closeness centrality and harmonic centrality are closely related, which explains the very similar results obtained for these two centrality measures
