Role of the initial condition. We show the cumulative number of infections (over 100 independent runs) among (a) adults and (b) children, for three different initial conditions. Our findings suggest no statistically significant difference between the outcomes of the simulations. All simulations are performed in the absence of vaccination \(V=0\) for Scenario I (original strain). The parameters used in the simulations are listed in Table 2, \(q_a=0.25\), and \(q_c=0.12\)
