The metrics presented are the number of new infections per time-step, the total proportion of the GC that has become infected and the effective transmission rate. The results are the average of 1000 repeats of a random walk, each walk starting at a randomly chosen node. The results exhibit the same characteristics of the well-know SIR compartmental model of epidemic spread
