The movement of candidates between parties yields a network of parties. Each candidate movement generates a connection between two parties. The result is a network where nodes represent parties and edges represent the connections among them. The weight \(w_{ij}^{y}\) of an edge represents the total number of candidates switching from i to j in year y.
